It’s YOUR Choc

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Every bride wants to make her guests feel welcome on her big day, and adding that personal touch to the tables is a perfect way to do it. It’s Your Choc is a great way to give your guests a personal souvenir of your celebration. The personalised bars of quality chocolate can be designed to suit the theme of your special day. Amy Russell from It’s Your Choc says it’s about giving brides exactly what they want, and retaining their individuality.

Amy says “You can choose a wrapper design and font to compliment your chosen colour scheme. There are spaces front and back to add a message, and you can add in your own photo or logo as well. Some brides have used the bars as a combined place card and favour - it’s a great way of saving money without losing that personal touch.”

Amy keeps a keen eye on customer service and the bespoke wrappers are only printed when the bride is 100% happy with the final design. With over twenty different wedding wrappers to consider, from the traditional to the contemporary and a selection of bar sizes, Amy doesn’t make life easy for the bride, but it’s certainly mouth watering. Since launching, she has had a lot of happy wedding day customers.

” I recently received a letter from a bride who had ordered bespoke bars from us for her wedding. She told me she’d be recommending my chocolates to every bride she met ! ”

There is no minimum order, so It’s Your Choc is perfect whether you’re inviting the whole village, or a handful of your closest friends. Let Amy and her team find a sweet solution to suit your special day.

Wedding Shows 2009 – Some Interesting Statistics

Friday, November 13th, 2009

After many successful wedding shows throughout 2009, we have been gathering a little bit of information about the people who attended – and some of the statistics make for an interesting read. We had a look at the responses from our wedding shows at Newcastle (Metro & Racecourse), Harrogate (International Centre) and Liverpool (St Georges Hall).

Reason for Coming

Out of all of the attendees who were questioned throughout our wedding shows, 56% of them stated that inspiration was the reason for them attending. Only 1% of people were looking to try on outfits, but with so much to see during the day, that’s understandable!

The wedding shows we hosted this year proved to be extremely popular, so we hope some of you took some great ideas to make your wedding that extra bit special.

Wedding Budget

Budgeting a wedding can be a difficult task, but can you really put a price on the perfect day?

Well yes, and some of the big spenders in Harrogate were willing to pay between £25,000 and £50,000 for their perfect wedding, more than any of the other attendees at locations in the North of England! The two wedding show locations in Newcastle discovered that 43% of people were looking to spend £10,000 and £25,000, which appears to be the average throughout our wedding shows.

Below is a complete chart of the price ranges from across our wedding shows.

Were you one of the attendees at our wedding shows this year? How much are you planning to spend on your big day?

Picturesque places to say ‘I do’

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

If a traditional church wedding is not for you and you want something a bit more original than the local registry office, why not take inspiration from the following locations and say ‘I do’ in a truly unique style.

1. The London Eye. Bride and Groom and up to 20 guests can have their own private capsule, complete with flowers and champagne and are pronounced man and wife whilst overlooking the city of London.

2. Ice Hotel, Quebec. The ice hotel is made completely out of ice and includes a magnificent chapel where the wedding ceremony is held. The hotel comes complete with bar, restaurant and club which are also constructed from ice. For a truly white wedding, the ice hotel provides a really spectacular venue.

3. Castle Rushen, Isle of Man. This medieval castle, dating back to the 13th century is the perfect venue for a really grand, atmospheric wedding.

4. Hamwari Game Reserve, South Africa. For a really romantic wedding day, why not have your wedding ceremony surrounded by the wilds of Africa and enjoy a wedding feast under the Africa night sky.

5. The Ferris Wheel, Vienna. The giant ferris wheel was built in 1897 and is one of Vienna’s greatest landmarks. The wedding ceremony takes place in one of the art-nouveau gondola’s and is completed when the highest point is reached.

6. Blenheim Palace, Woodstock. Set in 2,100 acres of parkland, Blenheim Place is a truly elegant wedding venue. Have your ceremony in the Orangery, overlooking the Italian Garden and magnificent lake which is later lit up with fireworks.

7. HMS Belfast, London. For a nautical themed wedding, say ‘I do’ aboard the Royal Navy’s only remaining great warship with up to 350 guests.

8. Glin Castle, County Limerick. Situated on the banks of the Shannon River and surrounded by 50 acres of grounds, Glin Castle offers a fairy-tale wedding venue for you and up to 50 guests.

9. Grand Hotel, Florence. This 18th century palace comes complete with grand ballroom and views over the River Arno and is situated in the heart of romantic Florence. For a luxurious wedding ceremony, the Grand Hotel provides the perfect venue.

10. Central Park, New York. Hold your wedding ceremony amidst the beautiful gardens of Central Park. With eleven gardens to choose from, your sure to find the perfect romantic spot in the heart of the bustling city.
