Arriving in Style

January 18th, 2010 by Kate

Bikengroom is a new and extremely unique wedding transport business. Now more than ever there are numerous unique wedding products to choose from and it’s great to be able to do something different and memorable on your wedding day. A chauffeur ridden fleet of Harley Davidson V-Rods are sure to get your guests talking. A lot of the planning of the day is focussed on the Bride but what is the Groom to get excited about apart from his lovely life partner. The cake? A huge proportion of the bookings for Bikengroom are from Brides who want to provide a surprise to their Groom on their wedding day when they contact this family run business owned by husband and wife team Michael and Sarah.

Michael has been a biker all his life and has owned and ridden a large selection of motorcycles from off road to on road sports bikes, track racing and touring internationally so he draws on a wealth of biking experience. “I have certainly owned more bikes than Sarah would wish to remember!” laughs Michael. “We started to provide a motorcycle transport service for family and friends which was great fun and we saw the idea take off as a business when we realised there was a demand for something different. We now operate with the fantastic Harley Davidson V-Rods which are in a league of their own, dripping with chrome and fitted with the ‘Screaming Eagle’ exhausts, so the guests certainly won’t miss the Grooms arrival! We do not limit the service to the Groom, anyone can ride and we always have the safety of our clients paramount when we plan their bespoke package. We are happy to accommodate special requests and photographs and were even asked to provide a Harley especially for a brides photograph entitled ‘Trash the Dress’ which was great fun”

For any function in the UK a gleaming motorcycle could be the perfect finishing touch so make an entrance and make a statement, contact Michael and Sarah now at www.bikengroom.co.uk

How to wear a fascinator

January 7th, 2010 by Katrina

There are a variety of ways to wear a fascinator and often this depends on the hairstyle of the user and the occasion. Fascinators can be manipulated to stand tall or lay flat and so depending on how they are placed on the head, they can be worked to blend in or draw attention.

With short or fine hair, it is often more difficult to control the fascinator, however back combing the hair or using hair mousse or spray will help add volume to the hair and offer the fascinator more support. Also using hair extensions or head pieces can contribute to thicker or longer hair. Using grip-clips can also help to support a fascinator and often it will have holes at either side to work the grip-clips through. For longer hair there are a lot more options as the piece can be rested near a bun or pony-tail or alternatively around the side of the head. Remember to ask your hairdresser for help as often hairdressers have some great ideas for getting the best out of your fascinator. Read the rest of this entry »

What bridal jewellery?

January 4th, 2010 by Katrina

Bridal jewellery is a popular feature of any wedding and it’s really important that it is perfectly right. First of all the bride must consider the dress, for example if the dress is quite intricately designed, there is no need for a large amount of jewellery as it will take the attention away from the dress. On the other hand if the dress is very simple, this allows the bride to indulge in the sparkles that the bridal market has to offer.

Bridesmaids always look great if they wear matching jewellery, just a simple pendant and earrings are often sufficient to set off their outfits. It’s quite normal to give the older bridesmaids a bigger piece of jewellery and the younger ones a simpler piece and this is the same when considering headpieces such as tiaras or fascinators. How to preserve a wedding cake

January 2nd, 2010 by Katrina

In some cultures it is tradition to keep the top tier of a wedding cake and use it for the first child of the married couple. The best way to preserve fruit cake is to keep it sealed and air tight.

This can be done by wrapping the cake in grease proof paper and then covering it with cling film or plastic food bags. Read the rest of this entry »
