Hire as many services and products as you can, even the brides gown, as this item alone can really eat in to the budget. Sign up to websites offering group discounts for items that you need to purchase and look for sites that offer wedding related discounts or offers. Ask family members for help with anything that they can assist with from flower arranging to making place settings or table plans, or baking the wedding cake. Getting married on a weekday can work out cheaper than a Saturday and is a good option for a small wedding where there is not the consideration of hundreds of guests having to take time off work. Look in to hiring a wedding planner as they will have lots of contacts and may know companies who regularly work together and can offer a package price for several different services. Talk to your partner about how to prioritise the spending and set a realistic budget at the outset, then do your research to make sure you are getting the best deal. Consider taking out wedding insurance to cover any unexpected hitches. It may sound practical and unromantic, but it is better than starting married life in debt up to your eyes. Wedding Shows 2009 – Some Interesting StatisticsFriday, November 13th, 2009After many successful wedding shows throughout 2009, we have been gathering a little bit of information about the people who attended – and some of the statistics make for an interesting read. We had a look at the responses from our wedding shows at Newcastle (Metro & Racecourse), Harrogate (International Centre) and Liverpool (St Georges Hall). Reason for Coming Out of all of the attendees who were questioned throughout our wedding shows, 56% of them stated that inspiration was the reason for them attending. Only 1% of people were looking to try on outfits, but with so much to see during the day, that’s understandable! The wedding shows we hosted this year proved to be extremely popular, so we hope some of you took some great ideas to make your wedding that extra bit special.
Wedding Budget Budgeting a wedding can be a difficult task, but can you really put a price on the perfect day? Well yes, and some of the big spenders in Harrogate were willing to pay between £25,000 and £50,000 for their perfect wedding, more than any of the other attendees at locations in the North of England! The two wedding show locations in Newcastle discovered that 43% of people were looking to spend £10,000 and £25,000, which appears to be the average throughout our wedding shows.
