Five essential tips to ensure your fairground wedding theme is a hit

Wedding days and fairgrounds may not always fall into the same, or even a similar bracket for many, but for others it’s an absolute dream! Themed weddings have taken the industry by storm and people are proving their creative side and tying the knot in festival themed weddings, adapting different eras and some escaping to the shores of a picturesque beach somewhere. We have recently witnessed the excitement, thrill and emotion of a fairground wedding… And we loved what we saw!

Here are Ston Easton Park’s hints and tips on how to plan a magical fairground themed wedding.

The grounds: Whether you’re hiring gorgeous grounds in Glasgow, a beautiful hotel in Hampshire or stately wedding venues in Somerset, it’s important to think about where you will be placing your fairground - can they accommodate where you want to put the Brooklands Speedway or the Twister? Many hotels will have their own management designated to such events, so call them to discuss how you envisage the day to be, they will be able to help ensure your big day goes without a hitch!

Your dress: Remember; you’re maybe going to be hopping in and out of fairground rides, maybe taking a spin on the waltzers or the carousel, so that giant, princess dress may not be too practical. To avoid trapping or snagging, plan ahead!

Dress code: Ensure all your guests know exactly what to expect – or at least how they should be expected to dress. Whether your wedding is a casual or lavish affair it’s always important to ensure your guests are prepped and primed accordingly, trying to make sure they are as comfortable as you during the day.

The dinner: Accommodating a dinner party at a fairground is no easy feat, but guests are certain to get peckish on this busy day, and hungry guests are no fun! Many people opt to have a covered over dining area using vintage style table accessories; while others endorse the fairground vibe wholeheartedly and serve the traditional donuts and toffee apples, keeping the guests high on sugar and excitement all day long!

Photography: This is most certainly a day you want to remember forever; browsing through photos of you, your guests and the day. Taking on a fairground theme or inspiration allows for some very bright and colourful pictures, perhaps a photo booth is a great way of generating some fun and unusual snaps.
