White Gallery London 2016: Top Trends

Last week team #UKWS attended White Gallery London in Battersea Park to get a first glimpse of the latest wedding dress trends for 2016/17.

White Gallery London is THE wedding press & trade event to get an insight in to what new designer brands and bridal trends will soon be in the bridal boutiques and from the boutiques to the aisle! Throughout our visit we witnessed some incredibly bold designs, sleek silhouettes and sparkling embellishments to grace the Catwalks.

Here are team #UKWS’s top trends from The White Gallery 2016 Catwalks;

Ruffles

One major trend we witnessed from the Bridal FROW were ruffles, a style that may not be for everyone but the girly-ness of this style makes a great addition to bridalwear. The style ranged from sleek minimal ruffles to extravagant full ruffles that Cinderella (or should we say Blake Lively) would have been proud of!

Two designers that showcased ruffles in their collections were British designers Ruth Millam who made an entrance with this golden sparkly and ruffled dress that made everyone swoon. Savlin London, also revealed a laced peach sleeved ruffled dress in the collection a dress that emphasised that embracing colour on your wedding day is the way forward!

If ruffles are a serious must for your wedding dress then a take a look at these two dresses from two UKWS exhibitors. This stunning peach strapless gown by designer Maggie Sottero, from The London ExCeL Wedding Show exhibitor Bridal Gowns at Jodi; is a perfect option for the bride that doesn’t want to wear white. This contrasting white ruffled dress with full embellished bodice from Madeline Gardner is another favourite of ours, from exhibitor Eperney Bridal.

Eperney Bridal will be on Stand 5 at The North East Wedding Show in February 2017, be sure to check out more from Madeline Gardner and Eperney Bridal’s full collection!

Capes

Capes were another trend on the catwalk a mixture of perfect (and practical) cover-ups for brides saying “I do” in the colder months of the year, from seriously stylish lace, to sparkly designs.
This floor-length cape from British designer Zadeem Zadel wowed on the catwalk with its metallic gold angel winged design on the back, with a simple clasp holding the cape in place it ensures that the cape can be easily removed to show off your dress! This simple design from Rasha is perfect for the bride that wants a cover up but away from the dress.

Separates

Separates were another HUGE trend on the White Gallery catwalk; a seriously stylish option for the bride who doesn’t want to opt for the traditional gown. If a two-piece bridal ensemble takes your fancy for your big day you, (like us) will fall in love with these amazing designs from Maggie Sottero and sister brand Sottero Midgley who are just two of the designers our exhibitor Bridal Gowns at Jodi stocks.

Bridal Gowns at Jodie will be exhibiting at The London ExCeL Wedding Show on 14th – 15th January 2017 be sure to visit her on Stand D43 to see the full collection.

Florals

The bold floral designs were one of our favourites on the catwalk; the perfect option for the girly bride who wants something contemporary, feminine and unique to wear on their big day. Charlotte Baliber stole the show with her “Untamed Love” bright floral gown and extravagant floral head piece – which we deemed perfect for a boho wedding!
However we know that floral accessories are not for everyone! If this head piece is something you would rather leave for festival season; then you take a look at this contrasting simple and elegant vintage tiara from Ivory & Co Tiara’s.
Ivory & Co Tiara’s will be exhibiting their collection at The London ExCeL Wedding Show on Stand A18 in January 2017. The tiara design from Ivory & Co Tiara’s looked perfect with the lace gown from sister brand Ivory & Co Bridal, the tiara added the finishing touch to a truly feminine and classic bridal look.
The international designers proved that florals are not just a current inspiration for British designers. Designer Immaculada Garcia showcased a delicate floral designed dress with sparkly netted cropped vest. This strapped floral gown from Maggie Sottero would be perfect for the bride who wants to wear a floral design similar to Immaculada Garcia and Charlotte Baliber’s designs.

Maggie Sottero is one of the designers from Bridal Gowns at Jodi who is exhibiting at The London ExCeL Wedding Show in Spring 2017.
